In the fourth quarter of 2021, the top five cryptocurrency apps on iOS in Germany—Crypto.com - Buy Bitcoin, ETH, Binance: Buy Bitcoin & Crypto, Coinbase: Buy Bitcoin & Ether, Bitpanda: Kaufe BTC & Krypto, and MetaMask - Blockchain Wallet—demonstrated diverse trends in user engagement and downloads, according to Sensor Tower data.

Crypto.com - Buy Bitcoin, ETH experienced a notable increase in weekly downloads, starting from 4.8K at the end of September and peaking at 19K by the end of November, before slightly declining to 15.6K at the end of December. Active users followed a similar upward trajectory, rising from 39.5K to 65.2K during the quarter.

Binance: Buy Bitcoin & Crypto saw its weekly downloads peak at 18.9K in late October, then stabilizing to around 8.7K by the end of December. The app maintained a strong active user base, reaching a high of 162K in late October, but eventually settling at approximately 120K by the quarter's end.

Coinbase: Buy Bitcoin & Ether showed a significant spike in downloads, peaking at 20.5K in late October. However, downloads decreased to about 7.7K by mid-December. Active users steadily increased to 81K by the end of November, then gradually dropped to around 70K by the end of December.

MetaMask - Blockchain Wallet had a gradual increase in weekly downloads, peaking at 7.1K in the last week of December. Active users consistently grew, reaching a peak of 23K in mid-November and closing the quarter at approximately 22.5K.
